A Black Sunday Service of Mourning and Prayer in Nigeria

Written by on 8th December 2025

In response to the ongoing violence targeting Christian communities across Nigeria, the church recently held a solemn “All Black” Sunday service — a time of public grief, solidarity, prayer, and hope.

The congregation wore black garments as a symbol of mourning for the countless lives lost and the families shattered by years of attacks on churches and Christian villages.

The service served both as a memorial for the victims and as an act of spiritual solidarity and resistance — a moment to affirm faith, love, and communal unity in the face of persecution.

Many worshippers held placards bearing messages of justice, remembrance, support for bereaved families, and cries for peace and protection for Christians across Nigeria.
