Five fire engines attended the scene on Argyle Street in Glasgow after receiving several reports of the fire.

Five fire engines were called to the scene on Argyle Street, Glasgow after receiving several reports of the fire at around 3.50pm. The street was closed off around the Alexander Thomson Hotel with the nearby Thai Orchid restaurant also affected.

Footage of the fire has been shared on social media showing smoke billowing from the buildings. A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman confirmed the incident. She said: “We have five appliances in attendance at a premises on Argyle Street after receiving several calls reporting a fire. “No further details are available at this time.”
