Daily Devotion: THE END FROM THE BEGINNING by Bosede Santos

And the Lord said, Behold, they are one people and they have [a]all one language; and this is only the beginning of what they will do, and now nothing they have imagined they can do will be impossible for them..Genesis 11:6AMPC
Imagination is our ability to form mental images of things we are yet to experience with our five senses, yet these images can be as real as those things we can see, feel, touch, taste and hear.
God attested to the power of the imagination when He confused the language of the people at the Tower of Babel to stop them from performing the evil their hearts were planning.
We switch our imagination into gear through our words. When you hear the word dog, you don’t see d-o-g, rather you see in your mind a breed of dog you had encountered in the past, however momentarily. Hence God removing the ability to communicate the evil.
In the same vein, when God wanted to establish Abraham in his destiny as the Father of many nations, He first changed his name. This immediately formed the image of many children in Abraham’s mind. Then He showed him the stars, which Abraham could now connect with to gain perspective on the multitude of children he would eventually father.
FIX YOUR EYES IN THE GOAL
Paul charged the Colossians to fix their eyes on things that were above. Same thing, when Jesus asked Peter to come to Him walking on water, Jesus’ word, “come” created an image in Peter where he saw himself walking on water and he was able to do it till he shifted his focus off Jesus and then began to sink.
What has God spoken to you about regarding your future? What do you desire Him to do for you today? Ask Him for His word of evidence regarding that thing. Sit with the Holy Spirit and allow Him to paint on your mind a mental picture of God’s mind regarding the issue. Let that image stick and become your reality. Live, that image. Turn the image into your declaration concerning the situation.
Paul prayed for the eyes of the heart, in other words, imagination, of the Ephesians to be flooded with light, so they can know and understand the hope to which God already called them. (Eph. 1:18).
So, friend, do you see the end goal of what you’re believing for?
YOUR RESPONSE
- Is there something you want God to give you guidance regarding? Pray Ephesians 1:18.
- Then ask the Holy Spirit to help you see the end already alive on the Father’s heart.
- Write out the image you see as the Holy Spirit guides you to the scripture where the solution is.
Prayer:
Father, I thank You for flooding my mind with Your revelation and teaching me to prosper in this situation. Help me to boldly step out as You instructed us to in Joshua 1:8. Thank You for helping me to succeed in this matter. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
