What is Vision?
Vision is the revelation of an idea to someone by God, which is in line with His plan and purpose. It is essential to walk with God and follow his guide to turning the vision into reality. When God gives a vision, we should not sit back and expect it just to happen; instead, there are tips and steps we need to follow to ensure it becomes real. Here are some tips:
- Write out the vision God has given you: “Then the LORD answered me and said, “Record the vision And inscribe it on tablets, That the one who reads it may run.” Habakkuk 2:2 NASB.
Once it is written, it should be hung where it can be seen not tucked away in the drawer. This is making it plain for your eyes to see and for you to run with it.
- Pray consistently and continually about the vision: Seek His face by praying and fasting if you can in order for God to guide you.
“But as for me, I would seek God, And I would place my cause before God; Who does great and unsearchable things, Wonders without number.” Job 5:8-9 NASB.
- Partner with the Holy Spirit: Be sensitive to the Holy Spirit because He is the one that guides.
“But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come.” John 16:13 NASB.
God will bring the right people your way at the right time who will help in actualising the vision He has placed in you.
- Start sowing the seeds of your time: Spend time researching, learning, acquiring and developing your skills.
““Enlarge the place of your tent; Stretch out the curtains of your dwellings, spare not; Lengthen your cords And strengthen your pegs.”
Isaiah 54:2 NASB.
Spend time with people that have believe and support in your vision.
- Be persistent and never give up on the vision even when things and situations get difficult or discouraging.
“For the vision is yet for the appointed time; It hastens toward the goal and it will not fail. Though it tarries, wait for it; For it will certainly come, it will not delay.” Habakkuk 2:3 NASB
