Gravity of the Cross
Written by Eloho Efemuai on 14th April 2017
Gravity of the Cross
The cross was heavy Before He was nailed to it
Weakened by the flogs He took for me
Each strike presented, Every part of me contrary
To the word of God, My shame to bear witness
To Him in public, Inability to forgive, Because of pain afflicted world
My self harm to numb, The voices I let in, In times of desperation and loneliness
My eyes access to the world’s filth For momentary pleasure
My heart darkened by the Closed application of biological truth
My fist as my mouth piece, And my head’s relationship with
The wall when I need silence, A heavy cross for His shoulder
Soaked in my sins, Then nailed to it.
The cross was heavier than I thought; today the revelation came to understand the enormity of the cross and the stripes on His back that linked to the cross.- JC Ebony
