Kirk Franklin Awarded ‘Ultimate Icon Award’ At BET Awards 2025

Gospel music icon and 20-time Grammy Award winner Kirk Franklin was honored with the BET Ultimate Icon Award this week, recognizing his decades of trailblazing influence in music, entertainment, advocacy, and community service. Hosted by Kevin Hart, the 2025 BET Awards—dubbed Culture’s Biggest Night—aired live on Monday, June 9 at 8 PM ET/PT on BET.
Kirk Franklin was presented with his Ultimate Icon Award by T.I. for his storied career. Following his acceptance speech, Franklin performed “Silver and Gold,“ “Smile,” “Revolution,” “Melodies from Heaven,” and “Stomp.” He was also joined on stage by Tamar Braxton, Jamal Roberts, Muni Long, and D.C. Young Fly.
