Pharrell Williams And Netflix Collaborate For New Gospel Choir Docu-series

The “Happy” singer, Pharrell Williams is bringing gospel music to Netflix in a new TV series.
“Voices of Fire” will chronicle the international hitmaker’s recent return to the Hampton Roads community, which is the part of the state of Virginia he comes from.
There, he teamed up with his uncle, fellow musician Bishop Ezekiel Williams, and other gospel leaders to find undiscovered talent to build “one of the world’s most inspiring gospel choirs”.
The bishop is the overseer of the Faith World Ministries church in Norfolk, Virginia, situated in the Hampton Roads
He shared the news of the Netflix collaboration on Sunday during an appearance at the virtual Essence Festival.
Pharrell will be the co-executive producer of the show which will be produced by A. Smith & Co. and I am OTHER
“Pharrell’s uncle and a well-respected musical genius in the area, Bishop Ezekiel Williams and his core team of influential gospel leaders will venture out into Hampton Roads to find undiscovered talent,” Netflix said in a press release.
“With the belief that diverse backstories can give their collective voice a greater meaning, the Bishop and his team will be searching for people of all ages, ethnicities and backgrounds.”
.The show is expected to debut later this year.
