Redemptive Power of the Cross in “Once and for All” by Laura Kaczor

Written by on 16th April 2019

Amy and I wrote this song as we meditated on the play on words of “Once and for All” as Jesus paid the FINAL payment for our sins and it was “Once and for All” of US!  How awesome that promise is that there no longer needs to be any more sacrifices for payment of sin. The Old Testament says without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins. The unblemished Passover Lamb was a foreshadow of the blood shed and placed on the doorposts of the Israelite’s homes and the angel of death passed over them. Jesus died on Passover fulfilling that prophetic word, and when His blood is on the doorposts of our hearts by faith, the angel of death passes over us too and we have eternal life!!  And when John the Baptist saw Jesus coming to be baptized, he spoke prophetically, “Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!” I was totally astounded and overwhelmed with gratitude when the Lord revealed this to me!

“The power of Your love, let us not forget.  The meaning of Your blood, and why it was shed.  You offered up Your life; the final sacrifice. And once and for all, we were bought with a price. Once and for all, we were given new life, And once for all of the world You died.  Once and for all of us.  Once and for ALL of us.

You took away our shame.  You stood in our place; took it on Yourself, carried the weight.  Blameless You came in, pleading guilty for our sin. Jesus You’re the only One who could do this.  Now the power of death is finished! Once and for all we were bought with a price.  Once and for all we were given new life. And once for all of the world, He died, You died!”

1 Peter 3:18,  “For Christ [the Messiah Himself] died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous (the just for the unjust, the innocent for the guilty), that He might bring us to God.”
