Perhaps you’ve heard this question of the thermometer and thermostat asked before, buttoday, I want to take us on a particular route you may not have gone on with it before.
The notable science fiction writer, Robert Heinlein, wrote in his 1973 novel “Time Enough for Love”, “Climate is what we expect, weather is what we get.” In other words, climate represents a broad range of conditions, within which we find our daily weather.Climate determines what clothes one should have in one’s closetwhilst the weather informs what one wears on a particular day. Annually, we are exposed to a wholegamut of weather, winter, spring, summer, and autumn, and these require us to havevariedclothing options.
Climate covers many usual values of the weather affecting a particular place. This could be standardorsevere values, which contribute to how climate affects people and our natural world.
One of the weather values that affect the climate of a place is temperature, which is measured by two common devices, the thermometer and thermostat. The thermometer simply reflects the temperature, whilst the thermostat controls or determines the temperature of a place regardless of the external temperature.
Control the ambience!
God already gave us the pieces of His armour as the item of clothing in our spiritual wardrobe (Eph. 6:10-18) and with these we control the climate around us.
Today’s scripture charges us not to allow the external climate of our world to reflect our own personal atmosphere, rather we are to control the temperature and reign in the dominion you and I already have in Christ Jesus. We have an array of outfits in our wardrobe to wear once we have determined the weather in the domain God put us in charge of.
Friend, are you controlling the weather around you?

- Determine you would control the spiritual atmosphere around you and not give in to fear or intimidation from the enemy.
- Ask the Holy Spirit to help youstand and keep standing once you’ve determined the atmosphere God wants you to command .
Prayer:
Father, I ask You to help me live strong regardless of the circumstances around me. I choose Your word and declare only Your word will stand in my environment. I refuse to sell out and conform to the wiles of the enemy. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
