You Are Not A Nobody

You Are Not A Nobody.
Have you ever walked into a room of people, who were supposed to be your friends and felt like an outcast? Somebody in the background? Felt like you don’t matter or whatever you said, was not being heard? Where you felt like that tree, in the play, no one wanted to be?
I have.
I didn’t feel like I was special, or if something happened to me, anyone would care. It can be very hard to see what we are worth or that we are even worth anything, when you’re constantly ignored or not seen for who you really are. To the person reading this post: You are not a nobody! To the person who doesn’t have many friends: You are not a nobody! To the person who ends up being the tree in the play: You too, are not a nobody!
You are in fact God’s somebody! Romans 9:25-26 says that, those who are called nobodies will be made somebodies. Those who are unloved, will become loved.
‘I will call them “my people” who are not my people:
and I will call her “my beloved one” who is
not my loved one. And, ‘In the very place where it was said to them,
“You are not my people,” there they will be called “children of the
living God.”’ Romans 9:25-26 NIV
Did you see that?! You are not a nobody! You are not how others see you or what they say about you behind your back. You are someone God calls beloved. Children of the living God.
In the very places where they call our “You’re nobody!” or treat you like it, they are actually calling you ‘God’s Living Children’ – Lysa Terkeurst
This is also found in Hosea 1:10.
‘Nobody’ noun + pronoun, according to the Cambridge dictionary means, not anyone or someone who is not important. But, the word ‘nobody’, is nowhere to be found in God’s dictionary. He didn’t create nobodies, because He knows YOU. He knows when you sit and when you rise. He is familiar with all your ways. If you really were a nobody, He wouldn’t care about the thoughts you have or the words you say. He deeply cares about your opinions; He cares about how you see yourself and if you walk into that room, with your head held high. He does!
God chose Jacob who was insecure, Zacchaeus who was unpopular & God chose you.
Get this; Zacchaeus was unpopular, a cheater and a sinner, yet Jesus called him by his name and insisted to stay at his house. In front of everyone! And this led to a change of heart. God knows your name. He knew you before you were even born and knew the steps you were going to take. If Jesus can pick an unpopular tax collector, then He has surely chosen you too.
You are so loved and significant; you now just need to embrace how Gods sees you. What about those days when you do feel like a nobody?
Say these 3 phrases out loud — I am not a Nobody! I am a somebody! God’s somebody! —
Do you feel better? Say it every day, before you go out and hold your head up high.
Prayer:
Lord, thank you for the amazing people reading this post. I pray that You touch their hearts to know and keep close to them, that they are loved by You. That because You are worthy, they are also worthy. And most importantly, that they belong to You. In Jesus’ Name, Amen
