Christian artist Amy Faith Morley is appealing for people to sing with her on a new charity single for families affected by the war in Ukraine.

The singer-songwriter based in Liverpool, was a guest on Arise with Eloho this morning.

She has previously worked in the war-torn country for Christian organisation Youth With A Mission (YWAM) and told guest presenter Rob Westall that many of the families she knows are struggling.

Amy wants as many people as possible to film themselves singing along to her special version of ‘The Blessing’ to encourage them and raise funds for Youth With A Mission (YWAM) in Kyiv.

“I’ve got friends living there right now,” she said.

“Me and my husband are part of YWAM and we went out to Ukraine a few years ago and we taught in the Kyiv school there. So, we met some lovely people.

“Some of the families we know out there are really struggling.

“They are just so brave. They want to stay there and serve and believe that’s what God has for them.”

During the Coronavirus pandemic, many artists recorded different versions of ‘The Blessing’ which gave Amy the inspiration for this project to encourage those in Ukraine.

“The blessing is such a beautiful, but powerful song and it’s straight from the scriptures,” she said.

“I just found myself looking for the Ukrainian version of it.

“My friend here in Liverpool is from Ukraine and she taught me how to sing it and I thought it would be nice to invite other people to record it with me.

“We’re going to do a split screen video recording to encourage our friends who are out there and to raise a bit of money for YWAM in Kyiv so those who are still serving in practical ways on the ground.”

If you would like to sing and get involved in any way then please email Amy for instructions on: info@amyfaithmorley.com
