Aberdeen Based Singer Millicent set to take the stage at Ep Launch

Aberdeen-based singer and songwriter, Millicent, is set to take the stage at the launch of her recently released debut EP album, ‘VOYAGE’. The event will be held at 7:30pm on Thursday the 16th of March at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel, Aberdeen Treetops, Springfield Road, Aberdeen, Scotland featuring local Aberdeen singer/song writer Cameron Jay. The EP album is an artful combination of soul, R&B and pop music.

Millicent is known for her work with local charities and live performances at various social events in and around Aberdeen. She was one of the main acts at the 2014 and 2015 ‘Courage on the Catwalk’ events organised by The Friends of Anchor to raise funds for cancer treatment and research.

Her music is inspired by her gospel background, and the works of legendary soul singers such as Whitney Houston, Dionne Warwick, Patti LaBelle, Corinne Bailey Rae, and Sade. With a voice described as incredibly versatile, she transitions effortlessly from a striking high pitch to deep resonating sounds bringing a depth of feeling to every performance. Her songs address social issues such as depression, addiction, love, self-discovery, acceptance and human interaction in a straight-from-the-heart yet enjoyable way. She is currently working on a full-length album which will be released in the near future.
