A new study done by the Benedict XVI Center for Religion and Society (St. Mary’s University in Twickenham) has found that the United Kingdom’s nonreligious population is now bigger than its combined Christian one, with 26 believers abandoning the faith for every atheist or agnostic who decides to become a Christian. Basing data from the latest British Social Attitudes survey and European Social Survey, the key findings  revealed the nation’s growing secularization. The researchers noted that 24.3 million people, or 48.6 percent of the British adult population, identified as “nones” in 2015 and they are predominantly young, white and male. It pointed out that since 2001, 500 churches in London of all denominations have been turned into private homes.

What’s your role?

As  a christian, do you know  your role in society?  How do you  influence your neighbours, friends, family, workmates, teachers, bosses and everyone that you interact with day to day? Everyone has one big commission “to teach the good news to all nations”

Mathew 28: 18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

Teaching is not about standing at the front to talk, but it could be that smile you give to the bus driver, the chocolate bar you buy that guy at the front of Tesco, name all the ways you can use your gift to draw people to the throne of God. May God’s grace guide you as press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus Philippians 3:12-16.
