Devotional: RENEWING YOUR MIND

Written by on 5th June 2026

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. Romans 12:2

Our thoughts influence our attitudes, decisions, and actions. This is why Scripture emphasizes the importance of renewing our minds. The world constantly promotes values that may be contrary to God’s truth, but believers are called to think differently.

Renewing the mind begins with God’s Word. As we read, study, and meditate on Scripture, our perspective changes. We start seeing life through God’s lens rather than through fear, negativity, or worldly influence.

The enemy often attacks through discouraging thoughts, doubt, and deception. However, God’s truth provides a defense against these attacks. When we fill our minds with His promises, we become better equipped to resist fear and remain steadfast in faith.

Transformation is not an overnight process. It happens daily as we intentionally choose God’s truth over destructive thinking patterns. Every day presents opportunities to align our minds with His will.

Today, pay attention to your thoughts. Replace negative and fearful thinking with God’s promises and allow His Word to renew your mind.

Prayer
Father, thank You for the transforming power of Your Word. I ask You to help me identify thoughts that do not align with Your truth.

Renew my mind and help me think in ways that honor You. Remove fear, anxiety, bitterness, and unbelief from my heart. Replace them with faith, peace, wisdom, and confidence in Your promises.

Lord, help me guard what I allow into my mind and focus on things that are pure, lovely, and praiseworthy. Let Your Word shape my perspective and guide my decisions. May my thoughts reflect Your truth and bring glory to Your name. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
