HSL Devotional: REMEMBER WHAT GOD HAS DONE | September 2, 2026
Written by Sunny Unachi on 2nd September 2026
Scripture: Psalm 103:2–5; Deuteronomy 8:2
One of the greatest weapons against discouragement is remembering God’s faithfulness.
David speaks to his own soul and says, “Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits.” He understood something important: human beings can quickly forget. We remember the problem in front of us and forget the God who helped us through the problems behind us.
Think about your own journey. There were situations you once thought would break you, yet you survived them. There were prayers you wondered if God would answer, and somehow the answer came. There were doors you never imagined would open, yet God made a way.
Remembering is not living in the past. It is using God’s past faithfulness to strengthen your present faith.
When the next challenge comes, remind yourself: “God has helped me before, and He is still God today.”
Keep a record of God’s goodness. Write down answered prayers, unexpected provisions and moments when His presence became undeniable. Your testimony can become an anchor when your faith is being tested.
Reflection: Take a few minutes today to remember three moments when God came through for you.
Prayer:
Lord, help me never forget Your goodness. When I become overwhelmed by today’s challenges, remind me of yesterday’s victories. Let my memories of Your faithfulness strengthen my confidence in You. Amen.
