Pop star Justin Bieber has shared a lengthy gospel message with his 143 million Instagram followers, declaring that Jesus “came to sacrifice himself on the cross so that you and I could have a way out”. Bieber, who has become increasingly open about his Christian faith in recent years, posted the message alongside a photo which simply declared: “Jesus is our hope.”

“Jesus is the answer to our shame, guilt, condemnation, jealousy, bitterness, unforgiveness, selfishness the list goes on…Jesus came to bring healing!” he wrote. “I don’t know what idea of Jesus you have but Jesus came to save us. He came to sacrifice himself on the cross so that you and I could have a way out. Jesus took the punishment of our wrongs so that we can walk with God with no insecurities or shame.”

The singer urged that we can all “walk in the FULLNESS OF ALL THAT GOD HAS FOR US!!” if we would simply put our trust in him.

“God has a full extraordinary life for you,” he declared. “Do you trust God enough to let go of some things? (greed, bitterness, unforgiveness etc) give it to God he welcomes us with open arms and he isn’t surprised by our mess. My hope is in a person and his name is Jesus”.

Bieber’s post has received more than 1,000,000 likes in three days.

In another recent post, Bieber quote directly from Matthew’s gospel, writing: “Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. And after fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry.

And the tempter came and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, command these stones to become loaves of bread.” But he answered, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’” The post was liked over two million times.
