Sal Ly Blends Classic R&B Grooves and Layered A Cappella Harmonies on New Single “My Forever”

Nigerian R&B artist Sal Ly returns with “My Forever,” the second single from her upcoming EP Comforting Company, arriving October 16, 2026.

Following the release of “Joy,” the new record continues her exploration of devotion, intimacy, and the emotional depth of a love that feels steady and certain.

Built around a laid-back R&B groove, “My Forever” stands out for its creative use of a cappella backing vocals, arranged by Sal Ly and Mon Lee and performed by Sal Ly herself. The layered harmonies give the record a distinctive vocal texture, adding warmth and depth to its production while allowing her musicality to take centre stage.

Where “Joy” celebrates the delight of being completely at home in someone’s love, “My Forever” explores the more personal side of that bond through a sound that blends contemporary R&B sensibilities with Sal Ly’s heartfelt approach to songwriting. The record finds character in its vocal arrangement, using harmonies as an essential part of the song’s atmosphere rather than simply as accompaniment.

The single builds on the ideas introduced by Comforting Company, a forthcoming EP centred on the comfort and companionship found in deep, lasting connection. Together, “Joy” and “My Forever” offer an introduction to Sal Ly’s approach to expressing devotion through the sounds, emotions, and creative instincts of R&B.
