The UK’s definitive Christian & Gospel Music Awards

Having announced Guvna B as the latest addition to the line up of the 2nd annual Step FWD Awards on Saturday 26th November we are delighted to confirm performances from the following artists: The Spirituals, Elle Limebear, Limoblaze, Rachel Kerr, Jake Isaac, Joshua Kesler, Tab Worship, Nathan Jess, DJ Shunz, KXC Worship, Maestro Bravest, Fabio D’Andrea, Minister Taf and LaToyah Bless. This spectacular evening of celebration will be hosted by Faith Child and Jennifer Lee Moon.

Following last year’s inaugural success, Step FWD Awards 2022 will be presenting a total of 30 awards, with the nominee list including many familiar established artists along with a whole host of newcomers. The event is based on the underlying principle of ‘honouring one another’ in Romans 12:10, so our aim is to be as inclusive as possible. Here is a brief taster of the amazing talent in the running:

Female Artists of the Year category sees Sarah Teibo and Asha Elia, last year’s winner, return along with new nominees Naffymar, Rachel Kerr, Caz and Purist Ogboi. A tough choice for judges to decide between these talented ladies! With the Male Artist of the Year shortlist there is a little more repetition with CalledOut Music (last year’s winner), Reblah and Jonathan Ogden continuing to compete for the title with the addition of legendary songwriter Martin Smith. Strong competition from new shortlisted artists Konola and Still Shadey, also a Mobo nominee this year.

A completely NEW category being added for Most Featured Artist of the Year provides a level playing field for both sexes with nominees including Asha Elia, Elle Limebear, R-Scar, CalledOut Music and Reblah.

Turning the focus to artists fresh on the scene, New Artist of the Year nominees include The Manor Collective, LaToyah Bless, Sanctuary Music, Fabien and Foreign Praise. If you haven’t already, make sure you check out their music and let us know who is your hot new favourite!

The most exciting announcement will undoubtedly be the results of the audience vote for Song of the Year, which has been a tight competition between 127 chart topping songs taken from the twelve music categories by which aStepFWD monthly charts operate. The intense live voting was done online over a three week period in October with thousands engaging by supporting their favourite artists. Although voting has finished you can still enjoy looking at the videos that introduce in brief soundbytes each entry. A great way to spot your favourites and discover a few new ones too.

This is simply a brief taster as many other categories are included in the Step FWD Awards, including Honorary Awards such as Outstanding Contribution and Lifetime Achievement awards giving recognition to those who have established a legacy in music.

If you only attend one music event this year make sure it’s the unmissable black tie red carpet event which is Step FWD Awards 2022 bringing together in celebration the Contemporary Christian and Gospel music artists UK wide, with no exclusions.
