Devotional: HOLINESS WHEN NOBODY IS WATCHING | Sept 14

Written by on 14th September 2026

Scripture: Psalm 139:1–4; Luke 12:2–3

Character is revealed when there is no audience.

It is easy to appear spiritual when people are watching. The deeper question is who we are when nobody sees us.

God sees both the public and private parts of our lives.

This should not simply frighten us. It should encourage us to live authentically.

There is freedom in knowing that you do not have to maintain a false image before God. He already knows you completely.

Holiness means choosing integrity even when compromise appears easier and nobody would know.

It means being the same person in private that you claim to be in public.

Your secret life matters.

The thoughts you entertain, the decisions you make and the habits you maintain when nobody is watching are shaping the person you are becoming.

Ask God for integrity.

Let your private life become a place where your relationship with Him grows deeper rather than a place where you hide what you do not want others to see.

Reflection: What would change if you lived every part of your life with the awareness of God’s presence?

Prayer:
Lord, make me a person of integrity. Let my private life reflect my public confession of faith. Give me strength to do what is right even when nobody is watching. Amen.
