Make God’s Kingdom a Reality in You: Walking in Faith and Revelation Knowledge

What does it really mean to make God’s Kingdom a reality in you?

It is more than simply being a Christian, knowing Bible verses or going to church. It is about allowing God’s Word to shape the way you think, live and respond to the world around you.

Jesus made this clear when He taught us to seek the Kingdom of God first.

Matthew 6:33 says:

“Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all thesethings shall be added unto you.”

First things first;

For a born-again believer, that means our priorities have to change. As we grow in God’s Word, we begin to realise that some things we once considered normal can no longer remain the same.

There has to be a separation. Not because God is trying to take life away from us, but because He is calling us to a higher level.

 

The Kingdom of God Is Within You

This is one of those truths that you really have to stop and think about: “The Kingdom of God is within you.” Colossians 1:13 tells us that Jesus has delivered us from the power of darkness and translated us into the Kingdom of His dear Son.

Through faith in Jesus Christ, we have become children of God. That changes everything!

We are no longer defined by our background, denomination, financial status, gender or where we came from. We are the Body of Christ, and Jesus is the Head.

Through our union with Christ, we are one!

We are also Abraham’s children and heirs to the promises of the Kingdom of God. And we have the legal right to the name of Jesus.

Think about that for a moment: “The Kingdom of God is in you.” That is powerful!

 

Information Is Not Enough

One of the challenges believers face is that knowing something about God is not the same as having revelation about it.

It is not just about information. It is about revelation.

You can hear the same Scripture repeatedly, and then, one day, something clicks. You don’t just know the words anymore. You understand what they mean for your life.

That is revelation knowledge. And we need it because we have an assignment. We are meant to take the Kingdom of God into our towns, cities, workplaces, families and communities. We are ambassadors from Heaven, sent to establish God’s Kingdom here on earth.

But we cannot fulfil that assignment by simply going through the motions.

We have to be trained.

We have to grow.

We have to know who we are in Christ.

 

Don’t Let Fear Make You Retreat

Look at the world around us; there are constant rumors of war, country against country, recession, earthquakes, as Matthew 24 says.

Some of these things can be frightening. And, honestly, it would be easy to look at what is happening around us and become overwhelmed.

But Jesus said: “Do not be troubled.”

These things should not make us fearful and cause us to back away from our assignment. Instead, they should push us to build our faith on a stronger foundation, with Jesus as the Cornerstone.

We are not powerless.

We are not supposed to see ourselves as weak.

We are mighty men and women of God.

The world may not see us that way, and religion may sometimes present Christianity as powerless or passive. But that is not the position God has given His people.

 

Advance and Hold

Jesus told His followers to occupy until He comes. The word “occupy” is a military term. It means: “Advance and hold”. Not retreat, not sit back and watch; “Advance and hold.”

God wants His Kingdom and His government spread throughout the earth. We have a part to play in that. Every believer has a position in the army of the Most High God.

The question is, do you know yours?

We do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against rulers of darkness. And when the world becomes darker, that is not the time for the light of the Church to become dim.

We have God’s Word.

We have the power of the Holy Spirit.

We have the name of Jesus.

We have everything we need to stand.

Look at Jericho: when God gave Joshua instructions, the victory came as they followed those instructions.

“Sometimes, faith really does look like simple obedience.”

 

Fight the Good Fight of Faith

Jesus is not coming back until His enemy is made His footstool. So, praise the Lord and fight the good fight of faith.

What is our ammunition?

• The name of Jesus.
• The blood of Jesus.
• The Word of God.
• The angels.
• Speaking in tongues.

God is not keeping His Kingdom away from us. The enemy wants to convince us that we are not good enough for what God has called us to do.

“I’m no good.”

“I couldn’t do that.”

“I’m not very good at reading.”

“I don’t know enough.”

Those thoughts can become prisons if we allow them to. But God’s Word tells us something different;

I am a child of God;

I am redeemed from the hand of the enemy;

I am a partaker of His divine nature;

I am delivered from the power of darkness;

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

This is how God sees you! Don’t let the enemy’s version of you become more convincing than God’s Word. “Where the Mind Goes, the Man Follows; Sometimes you simply have to do  it afraid.”

There have been moments when the only way forward was to step out in faith despite the fear. And when you do that, you discover that God meets you there.

 

Where the mind goes, the man follows.

Every one of us has something God has called us to do. It might be something huge or maybe seem very small. It’s still an assignment.

Think about a jigsaw puzzle. Every piece has a specific place. If one piece decides it does not matter, the picture is incomplete.

That’s how it is with us. We each have a place in God’s Kingdom. But the problem is that we can become so caught up in our own lives that we lose sight of it. We develop what can be called “wilderness mentalities”, patterns of thinking that keep us going around the same mountain instead of moving forward.

If we are not careful, our spiritual lives can become dry and stale. And some of the thoughts filling our minds? Are either lies from the enemy or simply nonsense.

That is why we have to meditate on God’s Word and push back.

 

What About the People Who Don’t Know Jesus?

We know that, at some point, believers will be caught up in the air. We call it the Rapture. But what about the people who did not make it?

That should make us ask ourselves some uncomfortable questions.

Did we really do everything we could to share the truth?

Did we go the extra mile when someone needed to hear about Jesus?

Did we become lazy?

Did we become lukewarm?

Did we get so comfortable that we simply decided, I’m alright, Jack?

Only you and God know the honest answer.

But there is still an opportunity to do something about it.

Born-again believers need to be taught and matured through revelation knowledge so that we can share the truth with others.

We tell people that Jesus loves them. We tell them that He wants them to invite Him into their lives. We sow the seed. Then we allow the Holy Spirit to continue the work of salvation.

 

God Is Moved by Faith

Here is another important truth:

God is not moved by need. God is moved by faith. He wants to supply our needs, but living in victory in the Kingdom of God requires faithfulness.

And here’s the beautiful part;

When we get it wrong, when we miss it, when we mess up, God does not simply turn His back on us. He is still waiting with open arms because of His incredible love for us.

That is who He is!

We just have to be careful not to become so absorbed in the world’s system that we forget the Kingdom we belong to.

Our assignment is bigger than simply getting through life. We are called to bring the reality of God’s Kingdom into the earth.

 

Revelation Knowledge Changes How You Live

Many believers don’t fully understand the position God has given them.

They live primarily by what they can see, hear and feel rather than by what God has revealed through His Word.

That’s sense knowledge.

But God is Spirit, and the sons of God are led by the Spirit of God. This is why revelation knowledge matters so much.

Our responsibility, especially in times like these, is to enforce Christ’s victory by working with the Holy Spirit, our Helper. And our actions have to agree with what we say we believe.

You cannot continually say you believe God’s Word but allow fear to dictate every decision.

Faith has to become something you do.

 

Faith Comes by Hearing

One statement puts it beautifully: “Hearing the voice of God is the stronghold of faith.” Faith comes by hearing! Romans 10:17 tells us: “ So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”

This is why we need the Word repeatedly:

• Hear it.
• Speak it.
• Read it.
• Meditate on it.
• Hear it again.

When you speak God’s Word, you are hearing faith. And as you meditate on Scripture, it begins to settle deeply into your spirit.

That is how information becomes revelation.

 

Guard Your Heart

Proverbs 4:20–24 gives us a simple but powerful instruction: pay attention to God’s Word and allow it to penetrate deep into your spirit. Then comes the warning: “Guard your heart.”

Why???

Because what happens within you eventually affects everything that you are. This is why renewing your mind is so important.

Romans 12:2 tells us “not to conform to the world but to be transformed by the renewing of our minds so that we can recognise the good, acceptable and perfect will of God.”

God’s ways are not the world’s ways, His thoughts are not the world’s thoughts. And revelation knowledge can take you further than simply relying on what your senses tell you.

 

We Are a Team With Jesus

We are not doing this alone, but a team with Jesus. God can send His angels to bring us through situations that look impossible. And when He does, those experiences become testimonies.

People need to see that God is real. They are looking for signs and wonders.

The Body of Christ should be operating in that capacity. Every person, seed, small act of faith and assignment matters.

As the saying goes, “every drop makes an ocean.”

The Word is working mightily in us, no matter what the circumstances look like; the Word is working mightily in us.

 

Make God’s Kingdom a Reality in You

At the end of it all, making God’s Kingdom a reality in you is about more than knowing what the Bible says.

• It is about living it.
• It is allowing God’s Word to renew your mind.
• It is learning to hear the voice of God.
• It is growing in revelatory knowledge.
• It is trusting the Holy Spirit.
• It is stepping out in faith, even when you are afraid.
• It is knowing who you are in Christ.
• It is refusing to let the enemy talk you out of your assignment.
• And it is taking your place in God’s Kingdom.

You have a position, an assignment and authority through the name of Jesus.

You have God’s Word and the Holy Spirit to help you. So don’t retreat; instead, advance and hold. You should fight the good fight of faith. Let the Word work in you. And wherever God has placed you, allow His Kingdom to become visible through your life.

May you have favour with God and with people. May everything you do this week prosper, in the name of Jesus. And remember: Jesus really does love you.

An Assignment For You

Don’t let this be something you simply read and forget.

Open your Bible. Meditate on the Word. Ask the Holy Spirit for revelation.

Then look around you and ask yourself one honest question: “What is my part in making God’s Kingdom a reality where I am?”

Once you know, step out in faith and do it.
