5 Gospel Songs of Gratitude to End August with Thanksgiving
Written by Sunny Unachi on 31st August 2026
As August turns to September, take a moment to be thankful.
Another month will soon pass. For some, it was a month that included answered prayers, new beginnings and occasions for celebration. For others, it was one that included difficulties, setbacks and unanswered prayers.
However, gratitude does not necessarily start from things going right. It may just start from being alive and realizing that God has preserved us.
For years, gospel music has provided Christians with the words needed to praise and thank God. Below are 6 songs that we should take a listen to as August ends.
1. Kirk Franklin ft. Karen Clark Sheard – Thank You For Everything
A reminder that our thanks must extend beyond those blessings that we are aware of. Some of God’s greatest miracles of deliverance and provision may remain unknown to us all. A perfect prayer of thanksgiving as the month comes to an end.
2. Maverick City Music – Gratitude
Sometimes words fail to convey the depth of our appreciation to God. Gratitude helps us remember that we should always worship God for His character as well as His works.
3. Housefires – Grateful
Even when circumstances don’t work out as we hope they would, we have reasons to praise and thank Him.
4. Rend Collective – Gratefulness
Being grateful can also be joyful and noisy. The song by Rend Collective ‘Gratefulness’ teaches us to praise God for His goodness no matter what season it is.
5. Todd Galberth – Lord You Are Good
To end up this playlist of praise we would like to state the truth – God is good. While we do not know what September will bring, we know God who will go through with us.
As Psalm 107:1 says “Oh give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good.”
So when August is coming to an end, stop and worship Him before it is too late. Remember that while August is ending, the faithfulness of God remains.
