Devotional – HOLINESS IS A DAILY DECISION | Sept 11

Scripture: 1 Peter 1:15–16; Romans 12:1–2
Holiness is not simply about avoiding a list of forbidden things. It is about living as someone who belongs to God.
Peter reminds believers that they are called to be holy because God is holy.
That calling affects everyday decisions.
What do you watch? What do you listen to? How do you speak to people? What attitudes do you entertain? What do you do when nobody is watching?
Holiness is formed through ordinary choices.
It is choosing truth when lying would be easier. It is choosing forgiveness instead of revenge. It is walking away from temptation instead of negotiating with it. It is choosing what pleases God over what gains approval from people.
None of this means we earn God’s love through perfect behaviour. We pursue holiness because we have already received His grace.
The Christian life is not about pretending to be perfect. It is about continually surrendering ourselves to God and allowing Him to transform us.
Reflection: What area of your life is God inviting you to surrender more completely?
Prayer:
Father, help me live a life that reflects Your character. Give me strength to resist temptation and courage to make choices that honor You. Continue transforming my heart and making me more like Christ. Amen.
