HSL Devotional: LEARN TO WAIT ON GOD | September 10

Written by on 10th September 2026

Scripture: Isaiah 40:31; Psalm 27:14

Waiting is one of the hardest disciplines of faith.

We live in a world that celebrates speed. We expect quick responses, immediate results and instant solutions. But God’s work in our lives does not always follow our timetable.

Isaiah says those who wait upon the Lord will renew their strength.

Waiting, therefore, is not necessarily wasted time.

Sometimes God uses the waiting season to prepare our character for the answer we are asking Him to provide. He may be developing patience, wisdom, maturity and dependence.

Perhaps you have been praying for something for months or even years. It is understandable to become tired.

But do not allow waiting to convince you that God has forgotten you.

His timing may challenge your patience, but His character remains trustworthy.

Continue praying. Continue preparing. Continue living faithfully.

Your responsibility is obedience; God’s responsibility is timing.

Reflection: What are you waiting for God to do? Can you surrender the timing to Him?

Prayer:
Lord, give me grace to wait well. When I become impatient, remind me that Your timing is wiser than mine. Renew my strength and help me remain faithful while I wait. Amen.
