HSL Devotional: PRAY WITH FAITH | September 9

Scripture: Mark 11:24; Hebrews 11:6
Faith is an essential part of prayer because prayer is ultimately an expression of trust in God.
When we pray, we are acknowledging that God is greater than what we can see, understand or control.
But praying with faith does not mean trying to force God to give us exactly what we want. Faith does not manipulate God. Instead, faith trusts God’s character even when His answer looks different from our expectation.
Jesus encouraged His followers to believe when they prayed. Hebrews also reminds us that those who come to God must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him.
Bring your requests boldly before God.
Ask Him for healing. Ask for provision. Ask for wisdom. Ask for restoration. Ask Him to open doors.
But after asking, surrender. Tell Him, “Lord, I trust Your wisdom more than my preference.” That is mature faith.
Reflection: What prayer do you need to place completely in God’s hands today?
Prayer:
Father, strengthen my faith. Help me believe that You hear me and that You are able to do what I cannot do. When Your answer differs from what I expected, help me continue trusting Your wisdom and goodness. Amen.
