Tyson Leamon releases Holy Ghost Road

Looking for a Christian Country Chris Stapleton, Tyson Leamon captures that kind of strength, grit, and emotion in his vocals. On his second Nashville Christian Country release, gone is the tender ballad of “A Prayer I Never Prayed.”  “Holy Ghost Road” allows Tyson to bring the powerful vocals he is known for to his audience.

Tyson grew up as a preacher’s kid.  He started singing at age three, and was singing in his uncle’s church by five, got a guitar at age twelve and has not stopped singing.

He and his band have shared their music from Texas to Tennessee and beyond.  From singing in Blake Shelton’s Ole Red in Gatlinburg to many country music venues all over, Tyson has shared his originals and covers, all popular with those in attendance.

“I was a bit of a rebel.  I started playing in a hard rock band, where I began a life of drinking, drugs, and promiscuity.  I even landed in jail a couple of times for misdemeanors of public intoxication.  I tried to get ‘right’ a couple of times but realized I didn’t need to be right.  I needed to be set free!

Tyson continues, “You can find Jesus anywhere, even in a bar, when you’re ready.  He left the ninety-nine to search for that one who was lost.  I was that one!  I went to jail in front of my young daughter.   She asked my parents where I was going, and it broke me!” Tyson continues.  Now Tyson sings a mixture of country, positive country and Christian country in every venue.

At the time when Tyson felt like he hit rock bottom, he wrote what has become his signature song, “Who I Am,” and God has blessed it.  It has over five million views on TikTok.  He has even sung it in “The Singing Barber,” Noah Peters’ chair on social media.

Tyson says, “The first person to contact me after posting the song was a military vet on TikTok.  He was on the verge of suicide, but said it stopped him.  He didn’t kill himself, because the song gave him hope.  He said, ‘You saved my life, man!’  Veterans, especially on the verge of suicide, have connected with the song.   I have received over ten thousand messages from people hearing ‘Who I Am.’  Other people are even covering it now, because it touched them.”
